It’s pix of food like this, that makes me miss home and my family!

When my boy saw this pix just now … he went “mmmmmmm … yuuuuummmmm … mum mum”

Then he continued,”HO CHIAK!” = Delicious

SEE SEE … even a three-year-old understands what is GOURMET food!

Apalagi, if I cannot sleep in the wee hours of the morning - I can still get rojak and kopi tarik from the nearby mamak. Here can meh?! *rolleyes*

This coming Fall, we’re planning to take our 3 year old toddler to Disney World for a week. We’ve booked a 7-day stay at a brand new condo next to Universal Studio. It’s got lake front view and have all the amenities that a family with little children would find it paradise. For a minimum 5-day stay, we’re paying $300 per day. All these are made possible with Orlando Vacation Home. Now that is really affordable looking at the fact we’re able to make our own food while my boy will be frolicking happily by the pool while we’ll be busy sunbathing. We’re planning on a 1.5 day trip at Disney World. Our boy should be very satisfied. Imagine watching and taking pictures with his favorite cartoon characters. Honestly, I’m not too into this because I have been to Disney World numerous times during my studies in the US. So the only thing which will make my day will be a full day trip to Beltz Factory Outlet! I can make an early Christmas shopping, can’t I? *hehe* That’s such an awesome idea! I am oh-so looking forward to this trip!

When I was studying in the US, I used to call home using long distance calling companies. I wasn’t really a loyal customer because whoever gave me a better deal or call rate per minute, I’d switch instantly! Nope, no thinking twice! In fact, I enjoyed switching between companies because besides enjoying great family rates, I’d also get some souvenirs. The only disadvantage about signing up long distance calling companies is that calling expenses goes uncontrolled. There was once, I actually made over five hundred bucks of calls to friends and family members within a week. WITHIN A WEEK!!! Boy was I shocked to see the huge list of bill because I didn’t have enough cash to pay. I had to make emergency call to my dad so he could wire the money to me.

Ever since, I have asked around on alternatives to using these long distance calling companies. My aunt who lives in Oregon, in fact, is wise. She told me to use calling cards instead. I heed her advice and indeed it worked magic! I found my calling habit was better under control whilst using calling cards. At least I was always aware that my credit was limited and I had to limit my talk time. Calling cards are cheap, affordable and sometimes reward us with a cash back. So if you asked me, if calling cards are better? My answer is definitely a YES!

During my uni days in the States, I have always wanted to watch the the National Final Rodeo show with my buddy, Douglas. Somehow, he’s either always somewhere traveling or was busy working, whenever the event was on. It intrigues me to see how the cowboys perform the tie down roping, saddle bronc and bull riding. The show can sometimes turn out scary and “violent” but it is so spectacular that I find it irresistable. Furthermore, I definitely wouldn’t want to miss a chance to watch it live. So this year, my hubby has decided to bring me to the States to watch the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo which is to be held in Las Vegas. The National Final Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada, is Rodeos World Series and Super Bowl all rolled into one. It’s gonna be exciting! He’s going to make an online booking for the National Rodeo Finals tickets for two to be seated at the Lower Plaza Level for one of the sessions in December 2008. We’ll have the tickets delivered to his colleague’s place since we don’t live in the US. I just can’t wait for the time to arrive! We’re gonna grab our cowboy hats and enjoy a wild, adrenaline rush of an exciting and entertaining rodeo show!

We are planning a getaway this Spring break before my baby bump grows bigger. My hubby was thinking maybe we should visit South Africa, since he has never been to that part of Africa before. I thought that was an awesome idea because it would mean I’ll get to see Lynnley, my African friend, whom I haven’t met for donkey years. Lynnley resides in Johannesburg. I have heard of cheap diamonds in South Africa. So I plan to visit a diamond factory to get perhaps half a carat for my wedding anniversary *hehe* Wishful thinking? Perhaps!

I would also like to see the now defunct Rissik Street Post Office and the adjacent City Hall because they are among the finest examples of downtown Jo’burg’s (Johannesburg) colonial-era architecture. Would like to also get a guided walking tour and visit Sandton, Troyeville, Parktown, Alexandra township and the city centre. Oh! And we will not miss Top of Africa, where there’s an observation deck for city viewing. That would be cool! I guess my hubby would be more interested in visiting musuems such as the Mandela Musuem, Hector Pieterson Memorial and Apartheid Musuem. Probably, we’ll take our little fella to the Johannesburg Zoo. Well, let’s see how the weather is like then. I don’t think I would fancy walking around the zoo with a big bump on a hot sunny weather

Well, I shall start scouring the internet for affordable air tickets soon. In fact my friend had referred me a site which offers affordable and cheap flights to South Africa. She had used their services before and said it was excellent! The last time they went to South Africa, it was the cheapest and most fun-filled family vacation they have ever had.
