I’m so proud of my D90! It’s still in the box - unopened *haha*

It’s currently in California waiting for a transit back to Finland.

I’m also getting 2 lenses - 70-300mm and 50mm f1/4

Oct 14

Finally I got my very own D90! Got the kit. Beauty of it - 2 years warranty! Bought it in Finland tho, cuz a lot of places I checked in the states they don’t have it. Well, not that they don’t have it but it’s selling like hotcakes baby … if I’m interested, I just gotta wait. I hate the waiting game. Besides, I don’t reside in the US - what happens if the camera arrived later than my departure, rite? I doubt they would deliver to Finland. Of course, they can always make a refund but that’s too tedious. Most of the time, it takes so much time - it frustrates me! Anyway, it’s not cheap - about 1k euros in the US (incl. tax) - I really don’t wanna take any risk. One shop I called, the guy told me they only warrant for 6 months *shock*

Anyway, those shops I have called personally were Circuit City and Ritz Camera. I am a little wary of making purchase at Circuit City because there’s a very high possibility they sell something which was returned by a customer. Now, I’m not saying they are dishonest but I don’t wanna take any chances. Cameras are damn sensitive stuff - besides I don’t know too much about them - the parts - so it’s best to buy from a reliable source. I no buy refurbished items … NO WAY!

I can’t wait to take pix with it!

Nowadays, going out is a dreadful process - rather STRESSFUL event. I’ve got one to carry, another who runs around like a crazy rabbit … it’s not easy really.

Was just chatting with a friend yesterday. She said I should bring my kids with me when I visit friends. So I told her, if I have the option of leaving them at home with my hubby, I would be more than glad to do so. I face them 24/7. If I can get out of my routine, to go out with the girls for a nice cosy dinner and a nice chat - I WOULD LEAVE THEM AT HOME!

Well, it did sound like she doesn’t understand the stress because she hasn’t had any. Wait till she has her own, maybe she would think like me :D

So, today we went footmuff shopping. Finally, got one. WITHOUT the fleece cuz hubby said it’s very very hot! Settled for the Brio haha … Brio on a Graco - sure sound weird! And yeah, together we brought along our Quinny (with the adapter for our baby’s Maxi Cosi Cabrio Fix), Maclaren for my older boy and the Graco (in case we got the footmuff we could start using). Yeah, we got the footmuff but it was kinda late and it was after all the shopping spree. So no chance. Another day ;)

So we had three with us.

I’m going to get my baby a footmuff for the Graco pushchair I got my parents to buy him this week. The store we bought from didn’t carry the Graco footmuff, so I have to source for a different brand. In fact, I’ve spotted Herqules’ footmuff. It looks cosy and warm but I don’t like the design - haha WOMEN! Yeah, that’s what I am.

Graco’s Deluxe Cocoon Footmuff is damn “chun”. Unfortunately, they don’t have it here in Finland. I think I’m gonna check it out in California. There are some other brands at the store I would like to go check them out.

The other options I have in mind are Quinny and Teutonia.

A good fleece footmuff is important during winter. We’ve got an Emmaljunga, Brio, MacLaren, 2 Quinny and now a Graco. Only Brio has a proper winter footmuff. The others, I’m just using those real thin footmuffs that came with the starter pack for new babies.

Yay, tonight I had a short chat with hubby - about the goodness of a Nikon DSLR over Canon DSLR.

Me: Hun, I need a new DSLR for better pix taking this Christmas

Hubby: But I thought you already have a EOS?

Me: Yeah, but Nikon take better pix … better STILL pix - since I’m not on the move so much, I think Nikon does me good

Hubby: BUT WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH 2 DSLR?

Me: Well, I can give my EOS to you? *sheepish grin*

Hubby: What the heck do I need an EOS when I already have an EOS?

Me: Well, your EOS is old. OLD OLD model. My EOS is new and comes with extra lenses. Besides, I have all the necessary acessories for it. So, it’s a good offer … OR I can keep that as well.

Hubby pondered a while - thinking of what to tell me next …

Me (trying hard to push the EOS): Think! When you go for your business trips, you have a “canggih” camera to snap up all the cool places and architectures! Besides, it’s small and light. Unlike your OLD EOS! (yep … each time I spoke I had to STRESS on the word “OLD” I believe that pissed him off ) *haha*

Hubby: OK! Whatever lah (yeah he is very Malaysian - he knows very well when to use the “lah” and other very bombarstic swearing words) Go get it … but wait … I thought you said it’s a Christmas present? So why buy now?

Me: I can remove the camera and start practising now so by Christmas I can take very beautiful winter and family X’mas portraits

Hubby: It’s a Christmas present so I am ONLY going to get it during Christmas

Me: But I can always do with one now *lowered my voice* We can keep the box and wrap up the empty box or you can get me an external flash so I can put it inside the box and wrap it up - so at least on Christmas I still get a little pressie …

Hubby: OK WHATEVER … GO AND BUY!

Mission accomplished.

I gotta showcase this because I just bought hubby a monitor and a super slim keyboard so that he won’t have to suffer looking into the 14″ lcd screen of his laptop and tapping its keyboard.

Can you guess what is missing from this pix? That’s the only reason I ain’t using it for now until we get one.

I’ve been procrastinating on posting it up … that’s what we got for him. The color is quite girlish but *what the heck* cuz even tho we paid full price, it came with FREE winter footmuff and nursery bag …

I really like that it comes with the Compact chassis. I love its reversible handle for varied direction of travel. So my boy can either choose to face me or the road - *hehe* - when he is naughty I’ll make sure he faces me.

Can’t wait for him to be a little over 3 months so I could start taking him out for strolls in this “lovely” pram

My two little monsters slept simultaneously tonight. Really felt great …

Today went out with my older boy to a friend’s place. Hubby said to go get a break … and yeah, it was a good break. First, we stopped by Toys R Us. We bought lots of Thomas and Friends and a birthday gift for hubby. We spent close to two hundred euros on just TOYS!!! *omg* Boy is happy, father is happy, but my pocket got burned! *frown*

Yeps, that’s what we bought for hubby’s bday!

Anyway, we had a great time with my friend and her family. She made me a good lunch-dinner. While the boys were playing and watching cartoon together, my friend and I were chatting and eating away. It’s quite funny how my boy and my friend’s boy blend together because they hardly spoke to each other. But ONLY gestured to each other.

At first my boy was very shy. He didn’t want to go into the house. I thought maybe he didn’t like the place and the companies. But I could see him giving me a cheeky smile. Immediately, I knew he was shy. It took him a while to warm-up though. Unfortunately, each time when he is FULLY warmed up, it’s time to go home *haha*

When we got home, sauna was already waiting for us. Nice …

Isn’t that true? Personally, I don’t care if it’s diamond, precious gemstones or even some artificial crystals, I’m more than happy if anyone would buy me whether for my birthday or Christmas. Precious stones best go with sterling silver or white gold. But with the current security issues, I would rather wear sterling silver. At least, they aren’t eye-catching.

I love to wear fashion jewelries because they are affordable and stylish. Besides, I can have as many of them as possible because I’m fashion conscious! Lately, I found an interesting site for fashion jewelry. They have one of the best collections of jewelries for both adults and children. Their collection ranges from anklets to toe rings. For one, I fell head-over-heels in love with their collection of designer inspired replica rings and earrings. They come in an assortment of colors, stones and designs.

I’m signing up for their email newsletter so that I will enjoy a 20% off coupon entitlement for any purchase on their online store.

Some of my favorites:

Aren’t they just gorgeous?! I’m planning to buy all four plus some earrings. That would easily sum up to $100. Guess what? For purchases over $75, I’ll receive a free sterling silver pendant from them! Besides, it’s risk free shopping with 30-day money back guarantee.
