I had my first sauna this evening, two weeks after my c-section (caesarean). I had my stitches removed on two occasions. The first was during my visit to the mommy’s clinic, which was a week after the surgery. I had six stitches but the midwife couldn’t remove them because one of them was infected and wet. AND WHY WAS THAT SO? Because of that OSASTO KUUSI Kätilöopisto Sairaala. They never gave me any instructions on how to care for my wound. Well, OKAY! So I have had a previous c-section. But c’mon! That was almost four years ago! Did they think I am able to REMEMBER EVERY SINGLE DARN THING?!

Anyway, complaint a side, I was told to go back the next day to meet with the gynae. The gynae checked and thought a few of my stitches looked OK. So she removed five of them and left one which looked inflammed still. Then I was told to go back three days later so that the midwife could remove the remaining one. That was last Friday. Today, I had bodyache and told hubby to call the medic helpline (runs 24/7) to see if I could already do sauna. Yes! YES! I can! They said once the stitches are gone, those who had had caesarean birth could start doing sauna again!

Thank you GOD for this wonderful creation. After much sweating, I feel so fine now.

So, if you have sauna at home and you have just had a c-section, you can have your first sauna after the first week of surgery because stitches will be removed on the sixth or seventh day after the c-section.
