We were there in June 2008. The trip was intended to show Mom and Bro our Scandinavian neighbors. Of course, on the way, we stopped by Stockholm and Sandviken (ummmm actually on the way back we went to Sandviken). Urrrggghhh … I really and truly hate the traffic to Oslo. There was a road construction then. Therefore, the speed limit was between 60-80 kph and what added to our frustration was the amount of speed traps (SPEED CAMERA). Thank goodness our Tom Tom would alert us whenever we’re approaching one but it’s so darn regular, it became a nuisance rather than helping us. CB!
Anyway, we didn’t drive all the way to Geiranger because it was impossible with us making so many stops for pictures taking and to let mom, bro and Nico REST! Both hubby and I can be fanatics! We can drive full day but with Nico around, that is impossible. We don’t want to scare him like our last trip to north Norway. Besides, mom cannot take it … age factor and the back seat … Our first stop was Lillehammer. Will post up pix of Lillehammer another day.
I am posting up some very few pix of Geirangerfjord (a UNESCO’s World Heritage) upon Rafidah’s request. Come to think of it, we have been to many UNESCO’s WH. Rafidah, Trollstigen on another day. Too many pix … sampai my mata sakit!

The FAMILY!

We rented a motorboat and went out to the fjord to watch the falls on our own. It’s very interesting because each time a big vessel sailed by … it created strong current that will send our small boat to the side. The boat renter actually warned us against going too near the cliff because of possible falling rocks. Someone was killed by falling rocks because of going too near the cliff.

Beautiful falls - melting glaciers
