There was an hour of interruption on the adsl network access! Almost drove me mad. It clearly shows I cannot leave without internet. Pathetic? I know :(

Don’t know what was wrong but DNS couldn’t resolve the IP address. Called to ISP but the queue was so long, hubby just left a message for them to call back. Guess, there’s no need for that now.

Mom called three weeks ago and said Aunt Shirley is going to Washington DC for rhinoplasty. I was taken aback because I’ve always thought she’s got the best features among all the other siblings. Obviously, mom wasn’t too happy with the idea and branded her “crazy”! It’s disheartening to hear mom’s worried voice. So, I did a study about the clinic where she is going to have her lovely nose redone. Turned out the surgeon is one of the top specialist in rhinoplasty. With it’s available advanced imaging system, my aunt should be able to see how her new nose would fit her face before the permanency takes place. Besides, there won’t be any visible scars nor any life threatening issues. So, I called mom to assure her of the expertise of the surgeon. Well, it still took her a week to digest it all! *haha*

Guess it’s the aging effect that those who are getting older want to look youthful and beautiful. Perhaps I should consider a rhinoplasty since mine is kinda round. I have always fancied and envied those with beautiful tall noses. At least, I thought I look clownish and unfeminine. But hubby said he loves my nose because it’s cute! Duh!

Alright, this morning I dreaded to wake up. I was awake the whole time in fact, agonizing the thought about the visit to the gynae. Finally at 9am, my hubby’s alarm went off. So, I slowly dragged my butt out of the bed and took a slow walk down the stairs to join my hubby and boy for breakfast. Yeah, everything was ready on the table. I just needed to open my mouth and stuff them down my throat!

At 10.30am, we drove to the clinic. Hubby and boy waited at the lounge while I went into the midwife’s office for the usual stuff like hemoglobin check, weight measurement and urine test. Hemoglobin was by the border - not very good but still OK! Weight wise, I seemed to have only gained 300gm over a month - still OK - gynae was happy I didn’t gain the weight of a whale. Urine test - pass with flying colors, as usual! Then the moment of terror arrived - cervix check! I hate how she stuck her finger into “u know where”. I just hate that feeling! Anyway, it’s an inevitable process. So, no point grousing over it. Then, she pressed my huge belly to feel the baby. After that, we listened to the baby’s heartbeat - normal 140! It lightened me up when I could hear my baby’s heartbeat. A moment of joy! I’m sure every mommy would enjoy :) After, we had a small nice chat and Q&A. Thirty minutes later, I was released from her room! Phheewwww … what a relief!

A dreadful appointment turned out well!

I finally understood why Cindy loves video conferencing. The other day, I dropped by her place to pick up a check for the tupperwares she bought from me. In fact, CIndy runs her business from home. So, I was invited in for a cup of coffee while waiting for her to finish off a video conference with her sister company located in Japan.

Wow, I was truly amazed by the quality of the video conference equipment. It’s lifesize, duh! It felt so real! Almost like chatting with someone seated next to her. After her call ended, I told her to give me a brief demo of the high tech innovation. I was truly intrigued with the Lifesize Conference feature which can accommodate multiple displays and integrating a touchscreen control panel. It creates a telepresence environment which is powerful yet user-friendly. Besides, it offers high quality conferencing with just any bandwidth! If I have my own company, especially if I have to correspond with associates all over the world, this is definitely the “thing” I want in my office, by hook or by crook!

… it’s the doc’s visit tomorrow. I hate the visit despite her friendliness.

Let’s see how I feel tomorrow. I’ve already postponed it once. No way to postpone it twice :(

My boy will turn four next year and I am planning on training him to work on house chores. Mom had been telling me it’s impossible that he would remember how or when to do them. Basically he won’t be able to recognize them. At least, according to mom, it wasn’t until I was 12, that I was able to hold the broom.

But my friend Cindy told me it isn’t so difficult. She introduced me to chore charts which enables me to reward my boy when he performs his work as scheduled and expected. It can also be used to encourage good behavior and instill a systematic behavior in a child. I thought that was an splendid idea! What’s more? These chore charts can be customized and printed for subsequent use. Most of all, they are free!

I was so crazy for “pedas” aka spicy food, I made sambal tempe with anchovies and peanuts, and stir-fry haricot dragons and okras with dried shrimps and fresh cut chilies.

Don’t know when I’ll be making them again cuz I’m not sure when I’ll be going to L’s shop.
