This year we had a great Chinese New Year celebration because we met up with lots of relatives and ate a lot of goodies. My boy received a lot of “hong bao” (red packet). Of course, that meant I had to give out a lot of these red packets filled with $$$ - so there’s really no gain. To those unmarried ones, it’s definitely a gain *hehe* Some unmarried friends even wanted to visit to get red packets from me. Dang! They are in their mid-thirties and they got the cheek to ask for them. WTF!
Chinese New Year is the time when we meet up with relatives and friends whom we haven’t met for ages! Most of the time, we would chat about good old times and also our current affairs. Though there are some people whom we do not wish to meet but we’re compelled to meet them because it’s considered rude to reject people’s invitation or visitation during this auspicious celebration.
Well, we have another eight days to celebrate. Tomorrow evening would be another fun evening with prayers and burning of crackers! Too bad we cannot burn the crackers here.
