Toddlers are so cute!

Why I prefer to be a homemaker or stay @ home mommy? That’s because I want to raise my baby until he’s ready to go to the kindie. In my opinion, it’s essential to participate in the first few years of a child’s life and not miss the foundation years. I don’t have the heart to send my baby to a babysitter when he’s a few months old or a few years old. These are the times that I know I will remember for the rest of my life - ie. to watch him learn new things, hear him say his first words and make his first sentences. I guess I won’t like the idea of having to hear from a babysitter that my baby has learned or said this and that for the first time today or so. Yeah, I want to be there when he says his first words or plays his first new tricks!

My boy is learning to speak in full sentences now. The first two things I taught him are:
“Mama, can I have [things or favor] please?”
“Mama I want to …”
The other day, he wanted to drink milk … so I made him say “Mama, can I have milk please?” I told him to say after me. He kept saying “Mama, can I please …” He repeated the same sentence for about a minute. I gave up. So I gave him the milk. I thought maybe it’s kinda hard for him to coordinate a few different words at the same time for now. The same day, he ran up to me and blurted very slowly “Mama, can I have chocolate please?” I was amazed! Kids learn fast huh? They seem to have very selective hearing.
Two days ago, he told me to take him out to play … so I taught him to say after me “Mama I want to go outside and play”. He looked strangely at me and said “No mama, I 123456 …” Then I said “No, just say Mama I want to go outside and play” … again he looked at me with a litte frustration and said “No mama, I 12 … hmmmm … no no … I 12 4 5 …” Adoi, I gave up. Got changed and both of us went out so he could play in the snow.
Yesterday, he was acting oddly quiet and was stinking smelly. So I asked him “Boy, you shit shit ar?” Then he said “No mama … boy “pang pooi” (farted in hokkien)” Then he ran around the house shouting “Boy “pang pooi” ” Then he giggled hysterically! Now I am hoping he doesn’t do that when we go out in the public. That would cause much embarrassment! Oh yeah … he knows how to say that in finnish too! Duh! Who else has taught him - it’s not so difficult to guess huh?!
Btw, he always speak as a third person. He doesn’t quite know how to use “I” yet. So he always say his name when it’s actually “I” he has to use. Toddlers are so cute!
