In a lot of places, water contains minerals. These minerals will eventually cause a white coating at the bottom of the kettle. This can affect the kettle’s performance. What’s more? The water will always have some white stuff floating on it. I used to have this problem at my ex-house. It was darn annoying. Imagine when my guests came, I actually served them with quite chalky water. So I ended up using saucepan to boil the water on the stove. That took so much time!

So I went to the shop and asked the retail guys how to solve this problem. They told me one word “Descale” … I asked them what is descale. They laughed at me. But hey c’mon not everyone knows what to do OK! We’re not born geniuses nor is my hubby a God! One of them went behind the desk and got me a “recipe” for descale. So I went home and tried. VOILA! The bottom of the kettle was as clean as new!

So let me share this with you:

1) Fill half of the kettle with water

2) Fill up the remaining half with white vinegar

3) Boil it

4) Let it sit for an hour or so after it’s boiled

5) Now, pour the mixture of water and vinegar away. You’ll be surprised the bottom of the kettle is as clean as new!
