Personally I don’t trust any of those can food from China. Not because I have prejudice against the cleanliness of the Chinese in preparing the food. Rather on the business ethics. There are so many “imitations” of the same kind in the market. They are imitated so well that one can hardly spot the difference between the imitation and the genuine. Take for instance, Ma Ling luncheon meat and the black bean fish in can *forgotten what’s the brand* … there are imitation ones in the market. Therefore, it affects the quality of the product. We have heard of horror stories on the ingredients used to prepare the food in China. That definitely sends chills down the spine.
Anyway, it’s in The Star today that food products from China are safe for consumption again. Let’s hope those shopkeepers are honest enough to remove any blacklisted food products from the shelves.
